Last week was CONFERENCE, which means it was me and my companions job to invite all the people of the community to the church to watch conference. There was a huge rally going on with the politics here (I'm still not even sure for what exactly) but people from the capital Asunción rally all the Indigenous people here and promise them land and money if they vote for them and guess which two days were the voting days? Saturday and Sunday šŸ™ƒ The whole week we kept reminding people but on Saturday only 2 showed up for the morning session. They loved it though. Sunday we had 3 in the afternoon session though! Conference was incredible, I really enjoyed all of the talks.

The second week was full of miracles. We went back to Asunción for a conference. Which is a long drive but It was during the day so I finally got to see the true landscape of Paraguay and it is endless forests of palm trees. And so so many cows. Asunción is a beautiful city with incredible history and I had the amazing opportunity to go on a "blitz" with another Elder in the upper rural parts of Asunción and it was so beautiful.
We traveled back and prepared for a baptism of a kid we have been teaching for a while! We had to set up a pool for the baptism but some kids wanted to use the pool to play in so we had to check on it all the time. It poured rain all throught the week which meant the mud was extreme. The streets were a little flooded as well. Right when the baptism was supposed to begin it started down-pouring and no one came becasue of it. Thankfully a couple hours later it stopped and the family wanted to continue the baptism and a ton of members came so that was incredible!
We are chased by a lot of dogs and I didn't know that there were cats like this (picture below) And the drunk people all laugh at me and say "how are you doing?" In English and its so funny. This is actually the craziest place ever. Its so strange, there is a really poor side of town and the other side is full of new businesses and nice building that are owned by all Germans. The rain is also either mist or just the heaviest rain ever.
Life in Paraguay is so incredible and so different and it really makes me appreciate what we have back at home. I know Heavenly Father loves all of his children and even though these people don't have much, they are some of the happiest most joyful people I have seen!
